With copied service record etc. Robert Williamson was born at Pontypool, Monmouthshire circa 1857 and attested for the Army Service Corps on 15th April 1878, he transferred to the Army Staff in 1882. He served in the Sudan in 1885 and was married to Edith Julia (1 April 1883 at Southampton). On the 1891 Census they lived in Battersea with their two children. His L.S. Medal was awarded on 1st May 1897.
