Light pitting from star, contact marks, Very fine.
 
One of (91) "Gemaizah 1888" single medal and clasps awarded to H.M.S. Racer, (30) clasps only awarded to the ship.
 
Robert Edwin Boyd was born on Guy Fawke's Day 5th November 1869 at Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. He served from 5 November 1887 for 12 years, on 22nd March 1900 he was court martialled and received 6 months hard labour for embezzlement.
 
Possibly also was awarded a QSA 1899-1902 aboard H.M.S. Niobe if the same man.
