Murray Warton Miller was born 13th Feb 1896 at Miller's Creek, Nova Scotia. He attested for the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force and served with the 42nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He was killed in action on 29 September 1918 whilst taking part in a morning attack SW of Tilloy, being hit in the head by a machine-gun bullet and killed instantly. Murray is buried in Mill Switch British Cemetery, France.
