Although he succeeded his father, Haji Nawab Muhammad Bahawal Khan Abbasi V in 1907, Sadiq Muhammad Khan V hadn't reached his third birthday yet. On October 1, 1922, on attaining his eighteenth birthday, he was granted limited administrative powers and became the head of the Council of Regency on April 1, 1923. he was invested with full ruling powers on March 8, 1924.
